CARNIVAL BABIES INITIATIVE
I
would like to take this opportunity to introduce Carnival Babies, a
junior carnival band unlike any other. This initiative is designed to
facilitate innovative workshops, catering to youth groups and
underprivileged children between the ages of 5 and 16 years. The programme is a unique introduction to the creative traditions of mas
making from design to final production. It also offers the children an
opportunity to experience and play Mas for Carnival. They will flaunt
their presentations at the official Junior Carnival competitions. The
Carnival Babies team is excited to have the Caparo Police Youth Group as
the first member of the program. Six (6) workshops have already been
held with these youths of which we have supplied all the necessary
materials. The participants are very receptive and excited to
participate in these workshops.OUR TEAM
Carnival Babies has been a dream of Lisa
Mollineau (Designer / Band Leader's). It became a reality with the
encouragement from family, friends and well wishers. Thus the
formation of Our Team, a group of dedicated, dynamic and diverse people from
throughout Trinidad & Tobago.
The
Carnival Babies Team believes that participation in this educational
introduction to the cultural traditions of Mas making is a positive
influence on the youth.

on one of our richest cultures – Carnival.
